In summary, the short-term L permit can be extended for a maximum of 1 year, provided that the permit holder is in possession of an employment contract or an economic activity in the Canton of Solothurn. In addition, the permit holder must demonstrate that they have sufficient insurance coverage.

The regulations of the Canton of Solothurn stipulate that the holder of the short-term L permit must have a monthly income of at least CHF 3,500 in order to obtain the extension of the permit.
