The Office for Primary Schools and Sports (AVS) is part of the Department of Education, Culture and Environmental Protection of the Canton of Graubünden.

For the area of special education / integration we are looking for an academic employee on 1 January 2027 or by agreement. This area plans school offerings for children and adolescents with special needs and supervises special schools.

Tasks

• Processing applications for special training for pupils with mental, physical and perceptual disabilities or multiple disabilities
• Processing of applications for measures in case of high funding needs
• Contact person for specialised centres and institutions for specialised training
• Management or participation in internal and external meetings and working groups in the area of responsibility
• Preparation of responses to parliamentary initiatives
• Cooperation in the development of messages, instructions, guidelines and recommendations
• Dealing with complex penalties from day-to-day business
• Development and enforcement of clear reporting and application criteria and guidelines
• Development of appropriate strategies and concepts in the area of responsibility (analysis of development at cantonal and Swiss level)
• Supporting the finance department in budgeting and billing the institutions of special training

Requirements

• University degree in special education or comparable education
• good knowledge of the cantonal school system and/or affinity for educational issues
• very good knowledge of German as well as skill in written expression
• if possible mastery of another cantonal language
• Ability to work conceptually
• Ability to perform even complex tasks efficiently and solution-oriented within the assigned competencies
• Strong communication and social skills
• Load capacity
