The newly established Data Protection Office has started its work on January 1, 2026. We are in the exciting process of building the office, which monitors and supports the application of data protection regulations by authorities according to the new Cantonal Data Protection Law. The rapid technological developments and the numerous references to societal issues make data protection an interesting and dynamic field of work with many interdisciplinary issues. The Data Protection Office is an independent body, administratively assigned to the State Chancellery. To complement our team, we are looking for an engaged and competent personality as IT or legal specialist as Deputy Head of Data Protection Office for the IT department. ## Tasks

• Data protection audits and statements on IT projects with a high risk to the fundamental rights of natural or legal persons
• Support of the Data Protection Officer in IT systems and processes as well as advice to administrative offices on the elaboration of solutions to minimize risks
• Advice on data protection impact assessments, evaluation of protection needs and risk analyses as well as ISDS concepts (Information Security and Data Protection Concepts)
• Analysis of system architectures, data flows and technical protection measures regarding data protection provisions
• Evaluation in case of data security breaches and guidance in their follow-up processing
• Observing technological developments (Cloud, AI, Encryption) and derivation of regulatory requirements ##
• Requirements
• Education in computer science, IT security or economic informatics (tertiary level) with solid legal knowledge or completed legal studies with solid IT knowledge
• Further training or certification in the field of information security and/or IT auditing or data protection is a plus
• Knowledge in IT security, network technologies, system architectures and software/cloud environments
• Initiative, reliable, discrete and integrity
• Communication and team skills as well as negotiation skills
• Further cantonal language is a plus
