The Office for Forest and Natural Hazards (AWN) is the cantonal specialist for forestry and protection against natural hazards. The employees of the AWN are committed to the needs of society in the forest and ensure that the forest is handled sustainably.

We are looking for a Regional Forestry Engineer and Specialist (70-100%) as of January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

Tasks

• As a regional forestry engineer, you are responsible for the municipalities of Val Müstair, Zernez and Samnaun assigned to you: implementation of the federal and cantonal forest legislation
• Ensuring the best possible fulfilment of forest functions
• As a specialist in Wald-Wild you lead corresponding projects in the region of Südbünden: preparation of Wald-Wild reports; technical evaluation of surveys, function as a member of the cantonal forest-wild specialist group

Requirements

• Diploma as forestry engineer/in ETH or FH, or Master’s degree in environmental sciences ETH with specialisation in forest and landscape management
• Sound forestry knowledge
• Experience with good knowledge in the field of forest wild is advantageous
• Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
