The Office for Agriculture and Geoinformation is a department of the Department of Economics and Social Affairs. It comprises the four departments of agricultural measures, structural improvements, surveying and the GIS Competence Center.

As a central IT and geoservice provider, the GIS Competence Center operates and develops the spatial data infrastructure of the cantonal administration. In an interdisciplinary team of eight specialists, you will realize innovative WebGIS solutions, specialist applications and geoservices. With modern methods and processes, you create digital tools that make spatial data easily accessible and effective for administration and the population. We are looking for the department GIS Competence Center in the Office of Agriculture and Geoinformation as of 1. January 2027 or by agreement a GIS/Informatics specialist.

Tasks

• Design, develop and automate robust data pipelines to integrate and transform complex geodata.
• Conception, development and further development of specialist applications and WebGIS solutions as well as the necessary geoservices.
• Establishment and further development of modern workflows to make deployment and release processes efficient.
• Advising cantonal services on the technical integration of geodata and evaluating new open source and cloud technologies.

Requirements

• University or technical college degree in geoinformatics, computer science, data science, geography or a related discipline. Applicants with appropriate professional experience and further education in the GIS/IT area as well as graduates are welcome.
• Ideally, experience with modern IT architectures, relational and spatial databases (e.g. PostGIS) and Python and SQL.
• High willingness to learn and pleasure in methodically analysing complex problems, developing pragmatic solutions and quickly putting new things into practice
• Own initiative, reliability and a solution-oriented working method
