The Office for Prisoners (AJV) Graubünden is a department of the Department of Justice, Security and Health of the Canton of Graubünden. The AJV is responsible for the execution of penalties and measures as well as the implementation of the various types of detention. In Graubünden, the execution of penalties and measures is thus regulated as a uniform topic and holistic task, in which different professions work interdisciplinary with people who have become delinquent in order to prevent further delinquency.

The prison (JVA) Cazis Tignez employs about 110 people and has 150 detention places in the closed prison. Of these, 100 are in normal prison, ten are in the entrance department, 28 are in special prison and twelve are in custody.

Tasks

• Technical, human and organisational management of the assigned team
• Leadership, promotion and development of the seven subordinate employees as well as support in their tasks
• Assuming day-to-day responsibility for security
• Ensure a smooth 24 hours. - Operation of the JVA with regard to all safety-relevant processes and facilities incl. Central
• Person, effects, room, vehicle and area checks
• Assistance, guidance and accompaniment of instructors from different backgrounds and cultural backgrounds
• Ensuring staff internal instructions and compliance with safety regulations
• Management of training units related to safety-related events
• External transport of admitted persons
• Administrative activities such as writing reports and documenting events
• Early, day, late, night, piquet and weekend services

Requirements

• Completed training with (EFZ) or equivalent
• Training in the security field or completed training for prison professionals is an advantage
• Several years of management experience – ideally in the prison system or in a similar security-relevant area
• High social skills, resilience, assertiveness, flexibility and segregation capacity
• Joy of teamwork and openness to interdisciplinary cooperation
• Very good EDV user knowledge as well as oral and written expression in German (at least C1); additional knowledge of cantonal and foreign languages is an advantage
• Driving licence Cat. B
• Willingness to complete training as a prison professional if not already available
• An impeccable reputation (no entries in the penal and enforcement register)
