Role overview
As a scientific collaborator within LITC, you contribute to the clinical activities of preparation and transplantation of Langerhans islets and to the translational and clinical research projects of the laboratory.
You perform your duties in strict compliance with standard operating procedures, the LITC quality system, applicable GMP/cGMP requirements, and rules for traceability, biosecurity and aseptic handling in controlled areas.

- Your activities are carried out in accordance with the responsibilities, delegations and authorizations defined in the quality system.
- After completing the required training and obtaining the corresponding documented clearances, you participate in the picket service and islet isolation procedures.
Main responsibilities

- After completing the required training and obtaining the corresponding documented clearances, you participate in the picket service and islet isolation procedures.
- As part of your duties, you are aware of and contribute to the verification of donor and pancreatic information.
- You ensure the technical management of the organ and carry out the various stages of isolation: preparation of solutions and equipment, dissection, enzymatic infusion, digestion, harvesting, centrifugation, purification, counting, evaluation of purity and cultivation.
- You perform and document the planned quality controls, contribute to the evaluation of their results, and ensure the packaging and preparation of islets for transport and transplantation.
- The final decisions concerning the acceptance of the organ and the release of the lot shall be taken by persons formally authorised in accordance with the quality system.
- You provide information and verify preparation, batch and traceability records, and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
- You report any deviation or non-compliance without delay and contribute to investigations, corrective and preventive actions, change management and risk assessment.
- You are involved in the development, revision and improvement of standard operating procedures.
- You also contribute to the activities of qualification, validation, training, audit and inspection, respecting the separation of functions applicable in the regulated environment.
