Zurich is currently looking to hire a Underwriting Specialist or Executive Property Underwriter to join the team in Houston, TX.
The Energy Property Underwriter will analyze and underwrite highly complex new and renewal business, under minimal direction, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework as a subject matter expert, ensuring a high-level service to customers.
As a Senior Underwriter you will serve as a leader and mentor to the team offering technical guidance on key coverage issues and forms.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, or market facing area including brokerage experience in the Energy and Property Insurance industry. OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR
Responsabilités principales
- include:
- Serving as a customer industry advocate with a focus on improving the customer experience by understanding their risk and offering the best end to end solution for their insurance needs.
- Using a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing
- Using risk insights, data and models to drive informed decisions at point of sale
- Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules
- Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments
- Develop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business-related needs, as appropriate.
- May provide guidance to lower-level associates.
- Supports the sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers, and customers.
- Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, or market facing area including brokerage experience in the Energy and Property Insurance industry. OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR

- Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
- Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
- Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
- Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business OR
- Executive Underwriter Basic Qualifications:
