As a Shipping Officer in CERN's Shipping Unit, you will organise and coordinate the import and export transportation of goods worldwide by road, air, sea, and rail.
You will manage a wide range of shipments, including chemicals, radioactive materials, dual-use items, and other regulated goods, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transport operations.

- Review, correct, and validate transport requests, and organise import and export shipments by road, air, sea, and rail.
- Some experience in organising international transport operations, including customer service and coordination with various partners across the transport industry.

- Review, correct, and validate transport requests, and organise import and export shipments by road, air, sea, and rail.
- Ensure compliance with transport, customs, and dangerous goods regulations, and prepare and verify transport and customs documentation.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery.
- Advise CERN users on transport and logistics solutions, prepare transport quotations, and recommend the most suitable shipping options.
- Verify and approve transport invoices, and resolve transport issues, claims, and delivery disputes.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to users' transport-related enquiries.
- Support continuous improvement of shipping processes and logistics tools.
Exigences principales
- Some experience in organising international transport operations, including customer service and coordination with various partners across the transport industry.

- Some initial exposure to Incoterms® and their application in international trade and transport.
- Some experience in writing clear and structured procedures and work instructions. Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer and service-oriented mindset.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage priorities and adapt to a dynamic working environment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Spoken and written both English and French. Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Commercial Business Administration [...] (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma .
