September 2026 promises to be the month of the environment in Collina d 'Oro, with a rich programme of initiatives dedicated to sustainability and quality of life. The Municipality invites citizens and families to actively participate, promoting responsible and environmentally friendly behaviour.

The central event will be the eighth edition of Environment Day, scheduled for Saturday 12 September from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Recreation Centre, surrounded by nature. The Village of the Environment will host numerous thematic stands dedicated to renewable energy, sustainable mobility and energy renovation of buildings. Participants include Pedibus/Agisco, Pro Velo Ticino, Svizzera Energia, Ticino Energia, Polizia Ceresio Sud, Publibike, TCS, IGSU, ConProBio, ACR, Afior di Gusto and an information stand of the Municipality of Collina d 'Oro.

During the day it will be possible to taste the local water at the Bar dell 'Acqua and participate in the "zero waste transformations – garden in brine" atelier at the Afior di Gusto gazebo, with tastings of Ticino products and wines.

Environment Day represents the core of the program, but the calendar also includes other initiatives dedicated to sustainable mobility, reuse, waste management, biodiversity, and the fight against food waste.

Cyclomania returns, the national cycling challenge between municipalities promoted by Pro Velo Switzerland. Participating is simple: by cycling, points are collected, and you can compete for prize draws. The municipality proposes three tours starting from the recreational center. The first is the Family Bike Tour on Saturday, September 12, at 9:30 AM, with a route suitable for families; the second, on Sunday, September 20, at 9:30 AM, will be the Endurance Tour, with 32 km through forests, dirt roads, and secondary roads. Finally, the Enduro Experience on Sunday, September 27, also at 9:30 AM: a route dedicated to experienced bikers on the trails.

These initiatives not only promote sustainability but also offer opportunities for the Collina d'Oro community to actively participate in a greener and more responsible future.
