Context

The Ticino Music Festival continues with a day full of events. The programme reflects the artistic variety of the 30th edition. It starts at 5.30 pm in the Aula Magna of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana with the traditional afternoon Concert.

The 30th edition of Ticino Musica was made possible thanks to the support of the municipalities of the Canton of Ticino, including Bellinzona, Locarno and Lugano, which granted funds to support the event. According to the Organizing Committee, the budget for the event amounts to about 250,000 Swiss francs, of which 80,000 for the support of municipalities.

The program of the day includes a series of concerts that will take place between the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland and the Social Theatre of Bellinzona. At 8.00 pm, in Bellinzona, the concert "Ticino Musica on stage" will be held, featuring the young Ticino conductor, Marco Albrecht. The program includes a series of pieces by Ticino authors, including the famous composer Hermann Suter, who have contributed to making music an important element of Ticino culture.

At 8.30 pm the program doubles with two concerts at the same time. In Rovio, in the Church of Our Lady of Gesiola, the Ensemble in residence Quartetto Kontakt offers a concert for flute and strings.

The event is organized by the Ticino Musica Association, based in Lugano, which has the task of promoting classical music in the Canton of Ticino. The association has already scheduled more than 20 concerts for the current year, with the participation of international and local artists.

The concert at the LAC will be directed by Maestro Andrea Molino, with the participation of 50 musicians. The program includes the performance of all the songs of Bohème, with a cast of singers who have already achieved international success. 📊
