The maintenance work is scheduled for the period between 1 August and 31 August 2024, as established by the contract stipulated between the railway line management company and the company specialising in railway maintenance work. 📊

According to estimates, the maintenance work will be completed by 15 September 2024, at an estimated cost of 2.5 million Swiss francs, as required by current legislation on public works (art. 14 of the Federal Infrastructure Act of 18 December 2003).

During maintenance work, rail traffic between Agno and Ponte Tresa will be completely suspended, with the replacement of the rail service with a bus service. The journey will therefore be extended by about 30 minutes, as reported in the official statement of the railway line management company.
