We are looking for a results-driven (Senior) Manager – National Tax & Tax Governance to join our Global Tax team within the Finance function.
In this role, you will take full ownership of Clariant's Swiss tax agenda while contributing to global tax governance, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Tax and based at our site in Pratteln, Switzerland, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a robust and forward-looking tax framework for a multinational organization.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage Clariant's Swiss corporate income tax agenda, including compliance, filings, audits, rulings, and negotiations with tax authorities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Swiss tax authorities and lead constructive engagement on all related matters
- Advise business stakeholders on complex domestic and international tax issues with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
- Drive global improvement initiatives across tax processes, compliance, and automation/digitalization
- Support strategic corporate projects, including M&A transactions, tax structuring, and long-term tax planning initiatives
- Identify, analyze, and proactively manage global tax risks to ensure full compliance across jurisdictions
- Maintain, strengthen, and further develop Clariant's Tax Control Framework
- Support digital transformation efforts in tax accounting and provisioning
- Lead analysis of tax planning opportunities and contribute to group-wide tax strategy
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Accounting, Treasury, and Legal
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the global Finance organization
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in global tax matters Requirements
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Tax Law, or a related field
- Certified Swiss Tax Expert qualification (or in progress)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a Big4 firm or an in-house tax department of a multinational company
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, Swiss GAAP, and Swiss tax law; strong interest in developing international tax expertise
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Self-driven, highly motivated, and comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability
- Strong analytical mindset with a hands-on, pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
- High level of integrity, dependability, and ethical conduct in all interactions
