BERN - Swiss bicycle rental company Publibike is passing a majority stake to British investor Visionedgeone. Current CEO Markus Bacher will retain leadership of the company and will remain a minority shareholder. The news was reported on Monday by the CH-Media Group's "Schweiz heute" portal, after the same company had already announced the change of ownership on July 30 on its website. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.

With the transaction, the current shareholders are selling their shares, with the exception of Bacher. Among those retiring is Bern entrepreneur Thomas Binggeli, founder and owner of Thömus, who has said he wants to return to focusing fully on his other activities.

The investor already owns Inurba Mobility, a bike sharing operator active in several European countries including France, Finland and Poland.
