For the emergency sleeping area we are looking for 1. March 2027 for 7 months a motivated person.

Tasks

• You accept the user’s registrations, clarify the individual needs and inform about the available services.
• You take responsibility for caring for a group of adults according to generally accepted socio-pedagogical standards.
• You actively support users in the search for connection solutions and communicate them to medical, psychological and social agencies.
• You ensure that the basic rules of social behavior are adhered to and you intervene professionally in conflicts and emergency situations.

Profile

• Study of social work at a technical college (preferably in the 2nd internship)
• At least 25 years old
• Resilience, self-confidence and high flexibility
• Readiness to look after users in the evening (about 20:00/20:30) until the following morning (about 11:00). Between 01:00 and 07:00 you are present during the night shift, retreat to sleep and stand ready when necessary to stand up and support and accompany the users.
• Independent working methods and strong teamwork
• Very good knowledge of German in word and writing as well as good IT user knowledge

The emergency dormitory offers homeless people from the city of Zurich free of charge a bed for the night, food and a laundry facility. Employees look after and advise users and look for appropriate housing solutions with them. Professionals provide situational care 365 days a year. They mediate to institutions and outpatient medical facilities, they support urgent problems and help with medical emergencies.
