Housekeeping MNA 60 – 80% in Zurich Uster (m/f/d)

Caritas Switzerland has been running asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at four locations in the Canton of Zurich since March 2024 on behalf of the Cantonal Social Office (KSA).

Their tasks

• Pick up and receive the newly arrived MNA
• Support of social-educational caregivers in establishing/promoting everyday practical skills (e.g. cleaning, homework / learning strategies, handling money / pocket money, balanced nutrition and personal hygiene etc.)
• Establishment/planning/implementation of daily structure, leisure/employment offers
• Support for social-educational caregivers in promoting young people in dealing with money as well as in crisis interventions and conflict management
• After consultation Accompanying the MNA on necessary appointments (doctor practice, administrative procedures, material purchases, SBB etc.)
• Promoting social and self-sufficiency, self-employment and psychological and social integrity
• Support in complying with house rules and maintaining a good residential group atmosphere
• Professional experience in housekeeping, cleaning and/or care
• Enjoy working with unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (MNA) and interest in different cultural backgrounds
• Ability to guide, accompany and empower young people in domestic activities
• Patience, assertiveness and an appreciative attitude in dealing with young people
• Ability to set clear boundaries and communicate rules in an understandable and consistent manner
• Willingness to work irregularly and shift in accordance with operational requirements
• Good oral and written knowledge of German
• Further language skills are advantageous
• Safe handling of current digital work equipment
• An unobjectionable special private extract from the criminal record or Willingness to submit it before taking up the job
