What awaits you.

Participate in a unique project of a new major and strategic railway line (investment over CHF 1 billion). At the SBB, we continually upgrade the infrastructure to ensure smooth connections, spot trains and welcoming stations. Following the completion of the preliminary project, we are strengthening the team to take a key step: the preparation of the investigation file. Why would you like this job? This is a strategic and emblematic project comprising more than 30 km of tunnels, mostly carried out at the tunnel operator, and the management of about 1.5 million m3 of materials. The project is conducted according to a sustainable development approach: optimisation of the recovery routes, traceability of materials and reduction to the strict need of road transport to limit the impact on the environment and the residents. What you can move.

  • As a project leader, you lead the strategy and execution of materials logistics, from extraction to recovery or disposal processes.
  • Responsible for the strategy and implementation of actions related to the sustainability of the project, you define environmental and social objectives, follow indicators and coordinate the various stakeholders.
  • You guarantee the smooth running of your project portion throughout the SIA phases (from planning to implementation) in terms of safety, quality, time and costs, while integrating logistics into the general site planning.
  • You support the entire tendering process for materials management in accordance with the LMP/OMP and internal processes.
  • You pilot internal specialists and external agents by ensuring coordination and quality of deliverables.
  • On a daily basis, you lead the project until you obtain the various internal validations, represent the project in the committees and bodies, and develop trusting collaborations with key partners, including the OFT, the Canton and the municipalities.

What you bring.

  • Thanks to your experience, you have developed an excellent sense of relationship and a strong team spirit, allowing you to easily coordinate the various internal and external stakeholders of the project.
  • Your proactivity and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously distinguish you.
  • During long-term projects, you can stay on course and achieve the goals set while remaining motivated on a daily basis.
  • Professionally, you bring a proven experience in managing complex and multidisciplinary projects (from 5-6 years of experience)
  • A proven experience in planning materials management platforms and logistics is a major asset.
  • You have advanced technical training (HES, EPF, university) in a field related to construction, for example civil engineering.
  • You have mastered French (minimum C1 level); a good knowledge of German (from level B1) is an asset.

Questions about this listing

What salary does FFS Officine (Ferrovie Federali) offer for this role?

The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Renens is CHF 97'500 - 165'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by FFS Officine (Ferrovie Federali). The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.

Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does FFS Officine (Ferrovie Federali) offer?

This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with FFS Officine (Ferrovie Federali) during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.

Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Vaud?

EU/EFTA citizens living in an EU/EFTA state can apply for a G permit and can work anywhere in Switzerland: border zones no longer apply to them, and they must return home at least once a week. The Swiss employer files the request with Canton Vaud's migration office after the contract is signed. Processing times vary by canton, so confirm the specifics with Vaud's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
