Assuming leadership responsibility in internal medicine and emergency medicine and still living a predictable life: In a family acute care hospital about 10 minutes from Basel, you work week by week alternately on station and emergency. Weekend service is only done about every three months. If you are looking for a hospital where you still know your name in the hallway, you are right here. The acute care hospital ensures the extended basic care of its region. At the heart of medicine is a large emergency department that is open around the clock. In addition, there is an internist bed station and a compact IMC, which is completely in the hands of internal medicine. Technically, the team is broader than you would expect from a house of this size. The cadre includes specialists in infectiology, oncology, hematology, endocrinology and geriatrics, supplemented by gastroenterology and visceral, trauma and orthopaedic surgery. So you do not discuss complex cases by consilane question over three floors, but directly in the house. At the same time, the hospital is part of a larger public hospital association and benefits from its structures. The location is located in the Agglomeration Basel, the train takes you to the city in about ten minutes. Basel is located in the border triangle of Switzerland, Germany and France. The city offers around 40 museums, a theatre with opera, acting and ballet as well as the world's leading art fair Art Basel. In summer you swim here in the middle of the city in the Rhine. There are free public schools for families and international schools with IB or Cambridge degrees. The oldest university in Switzerland is also located in Basel. At the weekend, the Black Forest, Vosges and Jura are quickly reached.

Their tasks

• You alternate every week between the emergency room and the internist bed ward, including the IMC, where you bear the medical responsibility for your patients.
• As a deputy for the departmental management, you help shape processes, organization and team development and take over the management role in absence
• You pass on your knowledge in clinical everyday life and accompany assistant and senior physicians professionally and personally
• 1x per week you take over the background service from approx. 10:30 p.m. when the medical presence in the emergency room ends. A weekend service only applies every three months
• In complex cases, you bring the specialists in-house and coordinate closely with gastroenterology and surgery

Your Competences

• Specialist title General Internal Medicine. For a foreign diploma, MEBEKO recognition is necessary. In this process, we support you with advice and financial support.
• Several years of experience as a senior physician, ideally also in the interdisciplinary emergency room
• Desire for leadership and the further education of younger colleagues, combined with decision-making pleasure
• Clear, appreciative communication and interest in actively developing care
