The IT Category Manager is responsible for the end-to-end procurement strategy and operational management of all Information Technology spend at IBSA, including software, hardware and IT consultancy services.
A core principle of this role is the adoption of a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to all sourcing decisions, prioritising long-term value and holistic risk management
The Category Manager must be able to articulate and share this perspective to internal stakeholders and ensure it is embedded in all category strategies and supplier evaluations.

- Key Responsibilities Category Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT category strategy covering software (licences, SaaS, ERP), hardware (infrastructure, devices, network) and IT consulting and managed services — defined in concert with the Enterprise Technology & Transformation (ET&T) function to ensure full alignment with the technology roadmap.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in large-scale vendor negotiations.
- Experience with P2P platforms and e-procurement tools; Fluent in English and Italian;
Main responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities Category Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT category strategy covering software (licences, SaaS, ERP), hardware (infrastructure, devices, network) and IT consulting and managed services — defined in concert with the Enterprise Technology & Transformation (ET&T) function to ensure full alignment with the technology roadmap.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, emerging vendors and technology trends relevant to IBSA's business.
- Define and maintain a supplier segmentation model and category roadmap aligned with business priorities.
- Embed a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodology in all category decisions, ensuring that short-term price savings are never pursued at the expense of long-term value, service continuity or operational risk.
- Maintain an IT supply risk register, proactively identifying and mitigating concentration risk, vendor dependency, cybersecurity exposure, and contract lock-in. Sourcing & Contracting
- Lead competitive tender processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) for IT categories in full compliance with IBSA procurement policy.
- Negotiate contracts, SLAs, pricing structures and commercial terms with IT vendors, ensuring best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) — with explicit consideration of implementation, integration, maintenance, training and exit costs, not only licence or purchase price.
- Manage contract lifecycle including renewals, amendments and exit strategies.
- Work closely with Legal to ensure contractual protection on data security, IP, liability and GDPR compliance. Supplier Relationship Management
