SBB Cargo International is the market leader in European rail freight transport on the north-south axis. With around 1,100 employees in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and France, we travel around 550 trains per week from the North Sea ports to Italy and back. In doing so, we are shifting thousands of net tonnes from road to rail and making an active contribution to more climate protection. For our headquarters, we are looking for an experienced and practice-oriented leader who will manage our Group Accounting professionally and in terms of personnel and, together with the CFO, ensure reliable financial management of our international group of companies as Head of Accounting (m/f/d) 80-100 % In Olten

Their tasks

In this key role, you lead a small accounting team and are responsible for the proper financial accounting as well as the correct and timely monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual accounts. In addition, you coordinate the Group Accounting and the consolidation processes of our group according to the respective legal and internal group requirements. You work actively in operational accounting yourself and ensure high data and closing quality. At the same time, you coordinate the accounting activities of our country organisations, ensure uniform standards and manage external partners, especially for the accounting of our French subsidiary SBB Cargo France. You are responsible for intercompany voting, ICS, payment transactions, debt management, VAT and tax declarations, transport invoicing and central SAP VIM processes. Together with the Head of Controlling, you ensure consistent financial data and reliable reporting and are the central contact for the CFO as well as auditing in accounting, financial statement and accounting issues. In addition, you will further develop our accounting processes and drive their standardization and digitalization. As a leader, you continue to develop your team in a targeted manner, promote cooperation across country and area boundaries and create an environment in which responsibility is taken and knowledge is shared.

• Your profile

You have a higher education in finance and accounting or a completed degree in business administration or finance and bring several years of experience in the accounting of an internationally active company. Leadership experience is beneficial. You are confident in financial statements, have in-depth knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER and OR and are routine in main accounting, intercompany voting, IKS, payment transactions as well as VAT and tax topics. The safe handling of SAP is part of your everyday working life

• Experience with SAP VIM and in the optimization of financial processes round off your profile.

You work precisely, structured and solution-oriented and also like to take action yourself. At the same time, you think beyond your own area of responsibility and understand how to coordinate accounting processes across multiple companies. We presuppose very good knowledge of German and English

• Knowledge of French and/or Italian is an advantage.
