What awaits you.

As a participant in the Career Starter programme in railway civil engineering, you will have the opportunity to successively occupy two or three promotional positions of choice. The first of these will allow you, over a period of five months, to acquire all the essential knowledge about the world of railway and civil engineering. You will find more information about the program here. During this programme you will be part of a team of several participants. Over the months, you will have the opportunity to join several teams to discover the different trades of the railway. During the program and depending on your promotional positions, your workplace may vary between Olten, Zürich and Renens. What you can move.

• Upon your arrival at the SBB, you will participate in several courses and workshops allowing you to quickly acquire a solid base of railway knowledge.
• Quickly, you take part in projects and autonomously assume certain responsibilities in railway related projects.
• You support your experienced colleagues and thus have the opportunity to have a concrete impact on the progress of projects and learn from their experiences.
• The study of railway projects is an exciting specialty in the field of construction/civil engineering. A complete introduction during training is guaranteed.
• At the end of the program and thanks to your overview, your network and the knowledge you have acquired, you will create valuable foundations for future professional development.

What you bring.

• Particularly interested in the rail sector and in the mobility of tomorrow, your motivation to undertake new challenges is obvious.
• You have an excellent learning capacity and you like to take responsibility and achieve ambitious goals.
• Your analytical skills, team spirit and positive attitude make you an essential part of a team.
• You benefit from a higher technical training, bachelor/master priority in the field of civil engineering. This programme can also be applied to any person for the benefit of a higher education in the field of geomatics, mechanics, electrical, architect, or training deemed equivalent.
• During the program, you will work as much in Romandie as in German Switzerland. For this, you master French (level C1) and bring a good knowledge of German (level B2 when you take up your duties). Knowledge of Italian would be an asset.
