As part of the Career Starter program in railway construction, you have the opportunity to successively go through two or three selectable upbuilding positions. The first of these allows you to acquire all the important knowledge around the world of tracks and civil engineering within five months. More information about the program can be found here. During this program, you will be part of a team of several participants. Over the months you will have the opportunity to move into several teams to get to know the different activities in the track area. During the program and depending on the funding positions you take on, your place of work may vary between Olten, Zurich and Renens. You can move that.

• When you join SBB, you will take part in several courses and workshops that will quickly provide you with a solid base of railway knowledge.
• Shortly after your training, you will work on projects and take on certain tasks in track-related projects.
• You support experienced colleagues and thus have the opportunity to make a concrete contribution to the progress of the projects and to learn from their experience.
• Project development in the track sector is an exciting specialty in construction and civil engineering. A comprehensive introduction during training is guaranteed.
• At the end of the program, you will lay the foundation for your future professional development thanks to your overview, your network and the knowledge gained.

• You have a strong passion for railways and sustainable mobility and look forward to taking on new challenges.
• Furthermore, you are characterized by a high willingness to learn and gladly take on responsibility to achieve ambitious goals.
• Your analytical skills, team spirit and positive attitude make you a valuable force in the team.
• You have completed a technical higher education (bachelor/master), preferably in civil engineering. The programme is also aimed at persons with higher education in geomatics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture or a qualification deemed equivalent.
• The program takes place mainly in German-speaking Switzerland, partly in Romandie. That’s why you bring negotiable knowledge of German (min. C1). Very good knowledge of French (minimum B2) on entry is an important plus. Knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
