Description

Develop surveillance and control programmes for animal diseases and zoonoses and implement them in close cooperation with cantonal enforcement authorities and the industry

• In coordination with international guidelines and based on scientific principles, develop technical instructions for the prevention and control of animal diseases
• Continuous monitoring and assessment of animal disease development
• Support other offices and federal offices as well as the cantons with technical questions
• University degree in veterinary medicine, preferably with additional training as an official veterinarian
• Experience in animal disease control and surveillance as well as good knowledge of animal disease enforcement in Switzerland
• In-depth understanding of Swiss and European animal diseases law as well as great interest in legislative processes
• Initiative and committed personality with a positive attitude
• Personal responsibility, flexibility, high resilience as well as analytical and networked thinking and acting
• Strong communication skills, communication in two official languages
