Vacancy DBA PostgreSQL – Operation (M/F) 100% Occupancy rate 100% Start date of entry to be agreed Duration Permanent Place of work Thônex For more than 60 years, we have been active in the field of invoicing and the management of medical offices, we have about 10 agencies and employ over 350 employees at national level. Our services support thousands of health professionals on a daily basis: their availability is critical. PostgreSQL is our target data platform and its perimeter expands with each wave of migration. This position covers both the daily operation of our PostgreSQL databases — availability, reliability and performance in production — and the contribution to the design and industrialization of our data platform, in close collaboration with Platform Management teams.
Your Mission
- Operation and availability
- Ensuring the administration and proper functioning of PostgreSQL production bases
- Ensuring availability, reliability and performance of data services
- Manage backups, restorations, replication, high availability and disaster recovery, and regularly test their performance
- Plan and execute updates, fixes and changes in production
- Monitor baselines, analyse metrics and anticipate capacity and performance issues
- Realize tuning and optimization of requests and instances
- Design and industrialization
- Contribute to the design and deployment of database architectures on our platform
- Participate in the automation of provisioning, backups, updates and rockers
- Work with Platform Management teams on the evolution of the data platform
- Define and maintain the operating standards of the bases deployed on the platform
- Incident and problem management
- Address Level 2/3 incidents on database perimeter
- Analyze root causes and manage lasting corrective actions
- Participate in a rotation outside working hours
- Contributing to continuous improvement of operating procedures
- Migration and support
- Participate in the implementation of migration from historical bases to PostgreSQL
- Validate the performance and compliance of migrated bases
- Providing support to development teams and business teams
- Document procedures, runbooks and good practices, and automate recurring tasks
Your profile
- Training: Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Databases or Training deemed equivalent
- Experience: minimum 4 years in PostgreSQL administration and operation in production environment
- Technical expertise
- Strong experience in PostgreSQL administration: replication, backup and restoration, HA/DR
- Experience in tuning and optimizing performance
- Mastery of SQL and PL/pgSQL
- Experience with supervisory and d'alerting tools
- Scripting (Shell, Python) for operating task automation
- Good knowledge of database security
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change): an advantage
- An experience of databases deployed on Kubernetes is an asset
- An experience of other engines (SAP ASE, MS SQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis) is appreciated
Languages
- French or German current
- English level B1/B2 minimum required
