Who are we?
The canton of Fribourg comprises seven district courts, with seats in Granges-Paccot, Tavel, Bulle, Morat, Romont, Estavayer-le-Lac and Châtel-Saint-Denis (five French-speaking, one German-speaking and one bilingual). Each court shall consist of one or more presidents and presidents, assessors and clerks and clerks. The presidents are professional magistrates and magistrates. The assessors are lay judges acting in an ancillary capacity. The district courts sit as a civil court or as a criminal court, and they also form several courts (courts of labour, courts of leases, etc.).
