The Baubauamt develops and manages major projects for new buildings and renovations for the activities of the State of Freiburg (education, justice and police, social affairs, administration, research laboratories, logistics, etc.) and focuses on architectural competitions. For an exceptional cantonal project, the Office is looking for a person to lead this project who is ready to take on an ambitious challenge involving logistical complexity and the coordination of numerous actors.

Their tasks

• They represent the public client in the management of one of the largest projects of the canton of Freiburg with a volume of more than 100 million francs
• You lead the project in all its dimensions: economics, planning, architecture program and risks and opportunities
• Your task is to make this project a success, i.e. to deliver a building in a complex urban location for a demanding user who is exemplary in terms of the above aspects. You will work with all state, external and private stakeholders.
• Its role is to coordinate the planning and implementation of a major project under public procurement. Aspects such as financial management, architectural requirements, compliance with regulations, especially in the area of sustainability, as well as management and motivation of internal teams and contractors are part of your everyday professional life.
• You are a proactive personality who loves challenges, feels comfortable in complex projects, and has leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
• You work independently within the given framework and keep your managers up to date by addressing topics that need to be forwarded in a forward-looking manner.

Desired profile

• Master in Architecture or Civil Engineering or equivalent training, ideally complemented by a CAS in Construction Project Management
• Several years of experience in managing complex real estate projects
• Familiar with matrix organizations and good feeling for dealing with people
• Mastering the German or French language with good knowledge of the other language
