• Lawyer's licence, licence or master's degree in law and justifying sufficient practical knowledge for the exercise of the function

• An experience in the areas of justice of peace (cf. art. 58 LJ ) would be an advantage

• Citizenship active on the cantonal level. Persons of foreign nationality must hold an establishment permit and have been domiciled in the canton for at least five years. Candidates must not be the subject of an act of lack of property, not have been criminally convicted for acts incompatible with the function

• Mastery of the French and German languages. The person must be able to hold meetings in both languages
