In the Freiburg prison (the institution) the prison facilities of the canton Freiburg are combined. It has the legal form of a public institution with its own legal personality. It is administratively assigned to the Security, Justice and Sports Directorate and is under the supervision of the State Council. The institution shall ensure the guarding, accommodation, care and treatment of the detainees in its custody and contribute to the implementation of the objectives of imprisonment and measures.

Their tasks

• Managing telephone traffic and alarms
• Control entrances and exits of prisoners and visitors
• Ensure a guard service and carry out continuous surveillance of detained persons, taking into account the different conditions of detention
• Manage and organize internal and external movements
• Participate in the rehabilitation of detained persons by positively affecting them
• Maintaining discipline, order and security among detainees

Desired profile

• EFZ or training considered equivalent with several years of professional experience
• Possession of the Federal Professional Card for Prison Guard Officers, beneficial
• Good physical and mental fitness as well as flexibility and stress resistance
• Sense of interpersonal relationships, communication and conflict management
• Willingness to intervene outside working hours in cases of force majeure
• Good knowledge of computer tools (MS Office)
• Empty extracts from enforcement and criminal records
• Mastery of the German or French language with good knowledge of the other language
