The Office for the Environment (AfU) has the task of ensuring a balance between the natural environment and its use by humans by enforcing the federal laws on environmental protection and the protection of waters. To this end, it monitors the state of the environment, contributes to the precautionary limitation of harmful effects of new activities, ensures the remediation of problematic facilities and informs the authorities and the public about environmentally harmful behaviour.

Your tasks

• Performing physicochemical analyses of environmental samples
• Participation in sampling campaigns in the field
• Application of the requirements of the quality system in accordance with the ISO 17025 standard and participation in compliance with them
• Ensuring the preparation, management and traceability of samples in the laboratory
• Contribution to smooth laboratory operations and active participation in the team

Desired profile

• Laboratory assistant EFZ specialising in chemistry or equivalent training
• Experience with laboratory work in a standardized environment
• Enjoyment of field work and environmental sampling
• Strong teamwork and cooperation skills
• Familiarity with technical work as well as with the operation and maintenance of test equipment
• Excellent written expression skills as well as mastery of the German or French language with very good knowledge of the other language
