The IWZ (Interprofessional Training Centre) based in Freiburg has been a public centre for adult education since 1986. We offer more than 250 courses, prepare for federal certificates and professional cards and also carry out educational measures on behalf of the public employment service and the cantonal IV position. As an ISO 21001:2018 certified institute, we place quality, adaptability and professional support of adults at the center of our actions.

For our language training area we are looking for a division manager.

The training offered in French and German is aimed at different target groups of adults and includes various regulatory areas: labour market measures (AMM), which are commissioned by the Public Employment Service (PES) for job seekers, fide French courses and French courses for migrants with the aim of integration, as well as courses for individuals and companies.

The position includes the leadership of a team of two education managers as well as around twelve part-time adult educators. The leadership share amounts to around 30-40% of the workload. In addition, you yourself teach in one or both languages

• This activity accounts for around 60-70 % of employment.

Their tasks

• Leading, developing and representing language education both internally and externally
• Developing an innovative educational offering that meets the needs of the market and clients
• Ensure the quality of educational offers in accordance with the management system of the IWZ (ISO 21001:2018) and the requirements of the clients
• Responsible for budget planning, controlling key figures and the continuous improvement process
• The educational managers and the part-time adult educators lead and accompany and promote their professional and educational development
• Evaluating pedagogical concepts and teaching practice
• In cooperation with the team, design educational offers for face-to-face, online and hybrid teaching
• Conduct training in French and/or German and accompany the participants until they reach their learning goals

Desired profile

• Higher vocational training or equivalent training
• Swiss Federal Professional Card as an instructor (or equivalent degree) or willingness to acquire it in a timely manner
• Sound experience in adult education, ideally in language teaching
• Leadership experience or demonstrated suitability for a leadership function
• Strong pedagogical skills as well as the ability to promote and accompany the professional development of adult educators
• Safe use of digital learning media as well as common computer science applications
• Knowledge of labour market measures (AMM), the fide system or language certifications are advantageous
• initiative, organizational skills, leadership skills, ability to motivate and bring teams together, as well as a strong quality orientation
• Bilingue German/French (verbal and written)
