The Office for Statistics and Data (SDA) coordinates the cantonal system of public statistics. We are responsible for managing, storing, documenting and disseminating the statistical information of the canton. Our mission is, among other things, to support the authorities in decision-making by increasing the use of data, in particular by using cantonal data with the help of open data and internal dashboards.

Their tasks

• Strategy for data exploitation: As a responsible specialist, implement the strategy and ensure that the projects meet the requirements of the canton and the users
• Open Data and KPI: Promote open data and exploit relevant internal data in cooperation with administrative units
• Data governance: Ensure data governance to ensure the quality of data exploitation
• Team management: Leading a team of 2–3 employees in the Data section and coordinating projects
• Communication: Build and maintain constructive cooperation with stakeholders to coordinate the goals
• Pipelines: planning and maintaining data pipelines using technologies such as Python and CI/CD

Desired profile

• Tertiary education degree (FH, UNI) in data science or in business informatics or experience recognised as equivalent
• Proven experience in managing teams and complex projects, ideally related to data products
• Knowledge of the principles of Open Government Data
• Experience in Data Governance
• Excellent communication skills and social skills
• Sound knowledge in Python and ideally knowledge in Power BI
• Mastering the French or German language with good knowledge of the other language
