The cantonal police are subordinate to the Security, Justice and Sports Directorate. Its mission is generally to ensure public safety, order and compliance with the law.

It serves the people and the authorities. For this purpose, she performs a large number of diverse and demanding tasks 24 hours a day and 365 days a year: emergency missions, detection of crime, crime prevention, investigations, etc. The increasingly important role of the police in solving social problems requires tact and expertise from civil servants.

The cantonal police are also responsible for road safety. It helps organisers of public events to ensure safety. It supports the cantonal and municipal authorities in the event of serious events.

The Cantonal Police consists of two main corps, the Gendarmerie and the Criminal Police, and three departments: Command, Logistics and Computer Science, HR and Training.

Their tasks

• Perform tracking of cryptocurrency flows (multi-chain) as well as management of seizures (hardware wallets / software wallets)
• Participation in police investigations and preparation of reports for the benefit of law enforcement authorities
• Cooperation with virtual asset providers (VASP)
• Analysis of account statements and technical data (KYC, IP addresses, devices, logs)
• Support of the various units of the Cantonal Police and the judiciary in criminal proceedings in the field of cybercrime, in particular in the analysis of cryptocurrencies
• Cooperation and maintenance of contacts with all law enforcement partners at national and international level
• Participation in working groups in the relevant subject area
• Preparation and allocation of training modules
• Ensuring on-call service

Desired profile

• University or higher education in the field of digital investigation or cybercrime or education and experience deemed equivalent
• A CAS or MAS training in the corresponding task area or the willingness to complete such a course of study is beneficial
• Proving independent, systematic, persistent and cooperative work
• Responsibility
• Category B driving licence
• Mastering the German or French language with good knowledge of the partner language and the English language
