The Office for Cultural Goods (KGA) has the mandate to identify, document, protect and preserve cultural goods. It shall provide appropriate information, advice and assistance to the competent authorities and owners. It promotes knowledge and appreciation of cultural assets through publications, public relations and the development of documentation. Spatial planning and the supervision of restoration work on listed buildings are among her core tasks.

Their tasks

• Representation during a four-month maternity leave with the prospect of a follow-up solution in the form of permanent employment from September 2027
• Processing of dossiers, projects and building permit procedures for protected buildings and sites
• Handling of dossiers and procedures in the area of spatial planning and handling of objections and complaints
• Advising building owners and specialist planners as well as drawing up opinions for the competent authorities
• Processing of subsidy requests and accompanying the related work
• Preparation, testing and follow-up of documentation and reports on restoration and conservation measures
• Close cooperation with the various departments of the Office and participation in awareness-raising activities and publications
• Cooperation in the development of internal instruments as well as in cross-departmental projects

Desired profile

• Higher or university degree (Master) in History of Architecture, Architecture or History of Art; training in heritage conservation or urban planning is an advantage
• Proven experience accompanying restoration and conservation work
• Very good understanding of historical buildings and structures as well as good knowledge in reading and interpreting plans and technical documents
• Good knowledge of the legal basis and current challenges in the area of spatial planning
• Strong negotiating, communication and persuasion skills, especially in demanding and sensitive contexts
• Good organizational and prioritization skills with high resilience
• Driving licence (category B, manual and automatic transmission)
• Mastery of the German language (language of external communication), as well as good knowledge of French (language of internal communication)
