The mission of the Food Safety and Veterinary Service SAAV is to ensure, through its inspections and analyses, that food and usual items do not endanger or deceive the health of consumers. It ensures the welfare and health of animals for themselves and the benefit of human beings.

Your missions

• As a cantonal chemist, you and the Head of Service contribute to the development and implementation of public policies on food security.
• By your role, you are responsible for the management, execution and monitoring of the tasks defined by legislation in the field of food and usual objects, chemicals and hygiene of swimming pools and public beaches.
• You coordinate and supervise the control of food and usual objects and, participate in the engagement of food security specialists
• You guide and advise the Head of Service, the Directorate and the State Adviser in your area of competence

Profile desired

• You have a master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, food science or natural sciences, EPF or HES, and you are ideally entitled to a federal degree in the direction of official food control (DDCAl) within the meaning of the current Federal Order.
• Focused/results, you are proactive/ve and take the initiatives and proposals for decisions required to complete your mission
• With good communication skills, you know how to work as a team and actively collaborate with your employees and interlocutors, in a pragmatic way
• Resistant to stress, you are faced with a high workload and irregular schedules
• Knowledge of the Friburg agri-food fabric a plus
• You speak French or German and have excellent knowledge of the other language
