Who are we?

The Cultural Property Service of the state of Fribourg identifies, documents, protects and preserves the cultural heritage of the canton of Fribourg. To this end, it shall provide the necessary information, advice and assistance to the competent authorities and owners. In addition, it promotes knowledge of and respect for cultural property through publications, awareness-raising activities and the maintenance of documentation. Land use planning and the monitoring of restoration work on protected buildings are essential tasks.

Your missions

• Replacement of maternity leave for 4 months, with possibility of extension by CDI from September 2027
• Follow records, projects and procedures for applying for permits for protected buildings or sites
• Monitoring and processing land use planning cases and procedures
• Provide the necessary advice to the applicant and prepare the notice to the authorities concerned
• Process grant applications and track work
• Ensure the preparation and follow-up of documentation and restoration reports for the files monitored
• Work with other sections of the Service, as well as awareness-raising and training activities. Collaborate in the development of internal tools and cross-sectional projects

Profile desired

• HES or university degree degree in architecture history, architecture or art history; training in heritage conservation or urban planning would be a plus
• Experience confirmed in following up restoration/conservation work
• Very good understanding of buildings and historical structures; ease in reading plans and technical documents
• Good understanding of legal bases and spatial planning issues
• Confirmed abilities to negotiate, communicate and argue in sensitive contexts
• Good organizational and prioritisation capacity with stress resistance
• Driver's licence (category B, manual and automatic)
• Mastery of the German language (language of external communication), with a good understanding of French (language of internal work)
