University Hospital for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
The University Hospital for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy is a renowned university hospital in the field of mental health and research. In the ambulatory sector, we offer a general consultation hour as well as a variety of special consultation hours as well as group offers. Diagnostic clarifications, second opinions and short therapies are carried out in individual cases. In the case of special indications, consultation hours are offered in cooperation with clinics and institutes of the Inselspital within the framework of fixed cooperations. In addition, the consultancy and liaison service is a central interface between psychiatry and somatic medicine. Our consultancy team supports inpatient and outpatient treatment teams in somatic specialist areas in the diagnosis and therapy of mental illnesses. The focus is on the holistic consideration of patients, close cooperation with other disciplines and the development of individualised treatment strategies. Another important part of the consiliar psychiatric activity is the supervision of the Guard Station Inselspital (BEWA), a unique institution of the judicial system of the Canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is used for the medical treatment of somatically and/or mentally ill or accidental detainees of all types of detention, age groups and sexes who cannot be admitted to another hospital for security reasons or cannot be treated in prison/imprisonment for medical reasons. In addition to the clinical activity in the areas mentioned above, we offer a wide range of opportunities for further education and research in these exciting and dynamic fields of work. As a recognized training institution, the UPZ has the opportunity to acquire a focus on consular and liaison psychiatry.
Their tasks
- They work on an outpatient basis in the field of consultation hours and are responsible for the diagnosis, therapy planning and implementation of psychiatric treatments
- You are responsible for the supervision of the assistant doctors
- In the K&L (Consiliar and Liaison Service) of the University Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, you are jointly responsible for the implementation of psychiatric consultancies in the approximately 40 different hospitals of the Inselspital (including intensive care units and specialised consultancies) as well as in the field of forensic liaison service at the guard station Inselspital.
- They work very closely with other disciplines and interdisciplinary teams
- You participate in the senior medical background service of the clinic for psychiatry and psychotherapy
- You are actively involved in education and training for psychiatry at the University of Bern and the candidates for specialist psychiatry and psychotherapy
- They support ongoing projects in research and can develop their own projects within the framework of the clinic's research concept if they are interested.
Your profile
- You have the specialist title of psychiatry and psychotherapy with MEBEKO recognition (mandatory for foreign diplomas)
- Clinical experience in consular and liaison psychiatry is beneficial
- Leadership experience and organizational skill as well as interest in taking on leadership and further education responsibility round off your profile
- Teamwork and communication skills are among your strengths
- Commitment to the continuous development of consultation hours and consultative psychiatry
- Readiness for interdisciplinary cooperation
- You have very good oral and written German skills
