- The training command (Kdo Ausb) is responsible for training within the Swiss army – from recruitment to general basic training to cadre training for the militia and the professional military.
- The Kdo Ausb includes the higher cadre training, the personnel of the army, five teaching associations, the training center as well as the Women in the Army and Diversity Department.
- One third of the approximately 2,350 employees work in civilian professions in the scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative or sports sector and contribute to success together with the professional military.
