Mission

EPFL has major challenges in the management of the information system.

The EPFL Information Systems Directorate (DSI) is responsible for implementing the EPFL Digital Agenda.

Main responsibilities

  • These missions include, in a combination of direct responsibilities and matrix responsibilities, the development and implementation of EPFL's IT strategy and master plan, the digitization of business processes, IT security, the management of central IT infrastructure, the management of core business applications, and coordination with the faculties' IT services.
  • The "Information Systems for Academic Services" (ISAS) Service is at the heart of the value creation of EPFL's Information System and its evolutions.
  • The teams work with EPFL's trades to analyse needs, develop, enrich and consolidate IT solutions, while maintaining their stability.
  • They also advise on the potential impact of solutions on business processes and propose process improvements based on standard market solutions or more rarely on the basis of specific solutions.
  • As a Business Analyst confirmed for the ISAS-GIF unit, you are in charge of business analysis and implementation in the new tools for the management of studies and ensure that they are tailored to the needs of administrative, student, faculty and doctoral staff.
  • As part of the PLEXUS1 project, you work closely with the entire Academic/Education Vice-President, as well as with third-party partners in Switzerland and abroad. Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Contributes to the design and definition of general and/or functional specifications.
  • Performs technical analyses and detailed studies.

  • Build and maintain a results-based roadmap.
  • Make prototypings.
  • Writes or participates in the drafting of deliverables, including costing, planning, general and detailed specifications, in accordance with internal methodologies and standards.
  • Acquiring academic knowledge and being able to challenge product functionality.
  • Participates in the customer recipe and ensures that UATs are made.
  • Leads relations with internal and external stakeholders (business stakeholders, external providers, management services and software architects).
  • Anticipates the risks and hazards of the project and communicates on the progress of the project.
