The Department of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany is in the University Botanical Gardens and houses modern molecular and ecological labs, Herbarium with three million specimens, and a Botanical Garden with living plants representing 8,000 species.

- A PhD position in my group at the Department of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany, University of Zurich, is available starting 1st of January 2027 for a period of four years.
- I am looking for a highly motivated and creative candidate. A formal requirement is a Master degree in any field of biology.
- Demonstrable skills in bioinformatics are expected.
Responsabilités principales
- Your responsibilities
- A PhD position in my group at the Department of Systematic and Evolutionary Botany, University of Zurich, is available starting 1st of January 2027 for a period of four years.
- The position is to study the evolution of human-plant interactions, with a special focus in Amazonia.
- It will involve lab work, participatory fieldwork in collaboration with Amazonian communities, and bioinformatics.

Exigences principales
- I am looking for a highly motivated and creative candidate. A formal requirement is a Master degree in any field of biology.
- Demonstrable skills in bioinformatics are expected.
- A genuine interest in interdisciplinary research to integrate ethnobotanical, metabolomic, and genomic data is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English, both orally and written is essential; proficiency in spoken Spanish to work with Amazonian collaborators is desirable. What we offer
