As part of the UGZ, Zurich West Prison is located in the Zurich Police and Justice Centre and has 241 detention places. It specialises in temporary arrest and pre-trial detention and plays a key role in the reception and first-aid of detained persons. We are looking for committed, motivated and capable personalities with a high sense of responsibility who want to actively participate in the prison Zurich West with their expertise and positive attitude. • You accompany admitted persons in particularly stressful situations such as arrest shock, suicidality or after personal crises, and shape their daily routine within clearly defined structures
• You monitor all security-related processes; from the reception of new persons to cell checks and the operation of technical equipment
• You carry out physical searches, secure evidence, control effects and accompanying persons, including those with psychological, physical or addictive stress
• In crisis situations, you react competently and responsibly and take on responsibility for several departments independently during night service.
• You work closely with the interprofessional support team and jointly develop sustainable solutions for support
• Written documentation and rapport are just as much part of your everyday life as the mediation of house rules and the enforcement of applicable regulations You bring that with you
• You are at least 25 years old, have an apprenticeship degree (EFZ or Gesellenbrief) and have no entries in the penal or enforcement register
• You have at least 3 years of general professional experience; further training for the professional/female law enforcement is an advantage. Cross-starters are welcome.
• You have very good knowledge of German in word and writing
• Oral foreign language skills are a plus
• You have MS Office user knowledge and are confident with digital tools
• The activity requires shift work (including day, night, weekend and on-call services) as well as a high degree of physical and psychological resilience
• You are communicative, capable of conflict and resilient even in emotionally demanding situations.
