- Developing and maintaining an end-to-end architectural understanding of how data flows into, through, and out of the entire Finance landscape including actuarial and risk systems.

- Proactively recognising optimisation opportunities across the Finance data landscape, including data flows, transformation logic, controls, platform usage, and delivery processes.
- Translating business and technology needs into clear, pragmatic solution designs that can be understood by engineers, product owners, data specialists, and senior stakeholders.
- Partnering closely with engineering teams to shape solutions, validate assumptions, remove ambiguity, and ensure architectural decisions are implemented effectively.
- Working with product owners and business stakeholders to understand finance processes, reporting needs, control requirements, and data quality expectations.
- Designing scalable, resilient, and well-governed solutions for data ingestion, transformation, validation, lineage, and consumption.
- Assessing solution options and making clear recommendations based on business value, technical feasibility, maintainability, cost, risk, and delivery impact.
- Identifying dependencies, risks, and architectural trade-offs early, and communicating them clearly to the right stakeholders.
- Promoting modern engineering and architecture practices, including automation, observability, reusability, documentation, and evidence-based decision-making.

- Strong data skills, including the ability to understand data models, data flows, transformation logic, data quality issues, lineage, controls, and how data is consumed by business processes, reporting, analytics, and downstream applications
- The ability to understand complex business and technology landscapes, identify the important details, and turn ambiguity into clear direction.
- The confidence to use diagrams, structured thinking, probing questions, and concise documentation to explain problems, options, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- The ability to move between strategic architectural thinking and detailed solution design, including dropping down into data flows, transformation logic, interfaces, controls, and implementation details where needed.
- Experience applying AI tooling effectively, accurately, and appropriately to improve analysis, design, documentation, engineering collaboration, or delivery outcomes.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
