The Darwin product team brings the right recommendations to the right people every day.
We develop and operate a recommendation platform with a wide range of use cases: from similar products to suitable accessories and trendy new products to personalized rankings and much more.
We use it to play out over 30 million recommendations in real time every day.

- As a software engineer, you are jointly responsible for the conception, implementation and continuous development of our product recommendations from the backend to the frontend, with a focus on clean, maintainable code and robust software architecture
- You take care of the technical infrastructure of your area of responsibility on the Google Cloud Platform, monitor the systems and ensure stable and reliable operation

Main responsibilities
- As a software engineer, you are jointly responsible for the conception, implementation and continuous development of our product recommendations from the backend to the frontend, with a focus on clean, maintainable code and robust software architecture
- You take care of the technical infrastructure of your area of responsibility on the Google Cloud Platform, monitor the systems and ensure stable and reliable operation
- You work closely with other engineers as well as with colleagues from the areas of data science, ML engineering, design and product Management together to implement customer-oriented solutions
- You feel comfortable in an agile, experimental environment, are interested in A/B testing and actively contribute your own ideas to the evaluation and further development of experiments Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience: In software development
- Completed studies (University/ETH, FH, HF): In the field of computer science
- You are well versed in .NET / C# and are already familiar with modern front-end technologies such as React, Next.js and GraphQL
- You have experience in the design and operation of scalable, distributed systems
- Topics such as performance, latency optimization and clean architecture are central to you

Application process
- You have experience in cloud development and operation for distributed, scalable applications.
- Bonus: You are familiar with the Google Public Cloud (GCP)
- Experience working with ML integration is an advantage, but not a must
- You enjoy learning, quickly familiarize yourself with new topics and see change as an opportunity
- You have a positive attitude, are humorous and contribute to the team as a team player with empathy and initiative
- The willingness to question “the way it has always been done” and suggest more efficient, automated or effective solutions
