Scientific:r Editor:in (m/f/d) 80%-100%, Zurich, temporary Descrizione The Institute for Cartography and Geoinformation at ETH Zurich is looking for editorial reinforcement in the team of the Swiss Atlas.

The interactive atlas of Switzerland (the official national atlas of Switzerland) has established itself worldwide as a leading product of cartography.

Currently, the generation change from the desktop to the web version takes place (fifth generation of the digital atlas).

Application process

  • For the implementation of the thematic content and support in the further development of the cartographic application, we are looking for a:n scientific:n editor:in. Job description
  • You are jointly responsible for the data management and interactive cartography of the Atlas of Switzerland Web
  • Your work includes the areas of acquisition and processing of data as well as the visualization of interactive 2D and 3D maps
  • You work in teaching and research with profile In-depth knowledge in GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS)
  • A degree in geosciences (spatial engineering, geomatics, geoinformatics, geography or similar)
  • Preferably experience with interactive visualizations (web maps), scripting (python, JavaScript) and open source tools
  • Team capable, accustomed to working independently
  • Small, motivated team (project manager, three developers, three editorial staff, one doctoral student) Very well-developed infrastructure
