Role overview

Materials science and technology are our passion.

Empa is a research institution of the ETH Domain.

Key requirements

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline with relevant practical experience.

What the company offers

  • With our cutting-edge research, Empa’s approximately 1,100 employees make decisive contributions to the benefit of society for a future worth living in.

Application process

  • Research engineer in mechatronics for biomedical sensor systems (a) In the research area Digital Health Solutions, we develop technologies for the continuous monitoring of body signals, which are flexibly tailored to different applications – from medical patient monitoring to occupational safety in demanding environments to top-level sports.
  • In the Biomimetic Membranes and Textiles laboratory, an interdisciplinary team is working on innovative, multimodal sensor systems, especially in combination with textile solutions.
  • Our sensor concepts are developed, examined and validated under realistic conditions.
  • In doing so, we analyse measurement accuracy, robustness and long-term stability.
  • In addition to wearing tests, we use standardized measuring setups that enable controlled and reproducible tests.
  • We are also currently developing a platform for the realistic simulation of (patho-)physiological body signals. Their tasks
  • They develop and implement a mechatronic system for simulating various body signals (e.g.
  • ECG; blood pressure, pulse wave, oxygen saturation, respiration), including the integration of hardware and software components.

Contacts

  • Applications by e-mail or by post will not be considered.

Additional details
