Social pedagogical reference persons MNA 80 - 100% in Zurich-Uster (m/f/d)

Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres at various locations in the canton of Zurich since March 2024. As a socio-educational specialist and caregiver, you are responsible for the personal and age-appropriate care, support and integration of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers at the MNA Centre on Aathalstrasse in Zurich-Uster.

Their tasks

• Social pedagogical and psychosocial support and support of young people within the framework of the reference person system
• Promotion of young people in the different areas of life (school, leisure, health, handling of money) with individual goals and goal checks
• Development of needs-based daily structures and leisure activities for and with young people
• Promoting social and self-sufficiency, self-employment and psychological and social integrity and establishing a binding framework for cohabitation
• Crisis intervention and conflict management
• Active interdisciplinary coordination and planning in the team (e.g. close cooperation with support of minors)
• Budget responsibility in accordance with the transposition directive of the Canton of ZH and the requirements of Caritas Switzerland, as well as preparation of billings
• External networking with cooperation partners and organisations
• Co-responsibility for the creation of a good house atmosphere and for compliance with house rules and security in the center
• Takeover of the socio-pedagogical piquetting service
• Completed recognised socio-pedagogical training (or equivalent)
• Experience in migration and/or youth work desirable
• Very good knowledge of German, further knowledge of foreign languages beneficial
• Intercultural competence
• Willingness and flexibility to work time varying in time (shift/weekend work)
• High sense of responsibility and quality for working with vulnerable, vulnerable young people
• Initiative, independence, teamwork and assertiveness
