Canton of Zurich Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs Implementation and Reintegration Prison Dielsdorf Management Implementation 80 - 100% With around 1400 employees, JuWe is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and responsible for the execution of penalties and measures as well as for the execution of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of delinquents and work effectively and progressively for a safe and just society. The Zurich Detention Centers (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise seven companies with about 735 prison places and about 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional arrest, pre-trial detention and security detention, as well as the premature execution of penalties and measures until transfer to a prison institution. From the outset, they thus fulfil a central function within the Zurich justice system. As part of the UGZ, Dielsdorf prison specializes in the accommodation of women and has 57 detention places. In addition to a department for pre-trial detention, it includes a department for the execution of short and substitute prison sentences. In addition, women can be admitted with their infants up to the age of about 18 months. For the management of the prison and pre-trial detention departments, we are looking for a strong and development-oriented personality. You understand how to promote employees, take on responsibility and, together with your team, shape a professional and safe everyday life. This is your field of action

• You lead the areas of execution and pre-trial detention with around 18 employees and work closely with the two team leaders and the Stv. prison management.
• A legally compliant, humane and orderly execution of the various forms of detention is at the center of your responsibility.
• For a safe and smooth daily operation, you develop safety standards and ensure their compliance
• As a central contact person, you keep an eye on the concerns of the admitted persons as well as admissions, exits and dismissals
• Together with the interprofessional support team, you will work on complex cases and organise a development-oriented pre-trial detention
• You promote the professional development of your team, accompany new employees and get involved in projects and strategic topics
• In emergency situations, you take on coordination and responsibility
• In addition, you provide telephone piquetting services at night as well as on weekends and public holidays. Your profile
• You bring a Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ) or an equivalent degree – ideally supplemented by the specialist certificate Fachfrau/Fachmann Haftug
• Several years of professional and management experience as well as further training in personnel management form your professional basis
• In dealing with mentally stressed people you are experienced and meet them safely and professionally
• Even if it becomes demanding, you keep a cool head, lead clearly and act strongly in conflict and de-escalation.
• You communicate very well in German, bring good knowledge of a foreign language and move safely in the relevant IT, radio and control center systems
• Social skills, relationship skills and a healthy demarcation belong together for you
