Canton of Zurich Financial Directorate Tax Office Head/in Assessment Department 80 - 100% Welcome to the fascinating world of taxes! Together with the municipal tax offices, the cantonal tax office collects taxes for the Confederation, the canton and the municipalities. We support individuals and businesses throughout the tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the Zurich Altstetten site. The former head of the Zurich South department will take over the management of the private sector. This is why we are looking for 1. May 2027 or by arrangement a new management for the Zurich South department with six teams and a total of 53 employees. Your tasks

• You carry the personnel, technical and organizational overall responsibility for the department and lead the six team leaders directly.
• You continuously develop the department and set targeted impulses.
• You ensure the timely and equal assessment of the approximately 300,000 hired or unemployed taxpayers in the area of Zurich South.
• For economically important or politically sensitive tax assessments, you support your employees and contribute your professional expertise.
• As a member of the management team of the private sector, you are actively involved in the further development of the sector and the cantonal tax office.
• You are involved in working groups as well as IT and organizational projects and take on internal and external speaker activities.
• Together with the municipality department, you maintain contact and cooperation with the municipal tax offices in the southern part of the canton. What do you bring with you
• You have a higher commercial training or a completed legal or business studies university.
• You will bring several years of professional experience as well as in-depth knowledge of non-commercial tax law and the various processes in the assessment procedure.
• You have proven leadership experience and understand how to lead leaders effectively and strengthen their leadership role.
• You convince with decision-making ability, assertiveness, organizational talent and pronounced process thinking.
• Thanks to your very good communication skills, you are confident and convincing towards different internal and external stakeholders.
• Even in challenging situations, you keep an overview and represent the interests of the cantonal tax office sovereignly. What we offer
