Main responsibilities
- Nucleic acid extraction: Self-responsible performance and optimization of DNA extractions from a wide variety of samples.
- Library Preparation & Quality Control: Preparation of NGS libraries (Illumina and Oxford Nanopore) and quality assessment.
- Maintenance of sequencing workflows: technical preparation, loading and monitoring of next-generation sequencing platforms as well as support for the establishment of semi-automated laboratory processes.
- Microbiological & Molecular Biology project work: Active support of various research projects in the laboratory (e.g. cultivation of bacteria, strain management, sample archiving as well as classical PCR and gel electrophoresis).
- Laboratory organisation: co-responsibility for chemical and consumables management, maintenance of laboratory equipment and documentation. Requirements
- Training: Successfully completed training as a biomedical:r analyst:in (HF/FH), biology laboratory:in (EFZ), technical:r assistant:in (BTA/MTA) or a degree (bachelor) in a relevant related life science discipline.
- Basic laboratory knowledge: In-depth knowledge in everyday laboratory life as well as a safe and routine use of basic laboratory equipment.
- Experience with NGS & Microbiology: Practical experience with nucleic acid isolation, NGS library preparation or sterile microbiological working techniques are a plus but not a mandatory requirement.
- Working method: Exact, reliable and structured working method.
- They enjoy fine motor precision work and bring a high quality awareness.
