Role overview
The Financial Crime Compliance Lead is responsible for leading a team of 3 FTE plus an intern within the Compliance Team.
The role ensures that the Bank’s Financial Crime Compliance framework operates in a robust, consistent, and regulatory-compliant manner through well-defined policies, standards, methodologies, and governance structures.
It further drives innovation and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of compliance processes.

- The role ensures that the Bank’s Financial Crime Compliance framework operates in a robust, consistent, and regulatory-compliant manner through well-defined policies, standards, methodologies, and governance structures.
- Your main responsibilities: Preparing in cooperation with the Head of Compliance STR / SAR filings.
- Responsibility to adequately handle all authorities and regulator requests.

- Responsibility to adequately handle all authorities and regulator requests.
- Advising on Swiss CDB20, AML and KYC requirements both within the team as well to the client facing staff.
- Execution of the AML Framework of the bank, with an eye for detail and exploring opportunities for improvements.
- Supporting the entire AML team and Sygnum colleagues in compliance and regulatory matters regarding daily business and strategic initiatives.
- Leverage data and AI-enabled tools to identify trends, enhance risk detection and support continuous improvement of the AML framework and processes.
- Design and deliver educational training to employees on AML related laws and regulations as well as industry practices and ensure corresponding know-how transfer.
- Assess and approve client documentation in the client onboarding process consistent with applicable KYC and AML regulations, especially for High-Risk clients and complex corporate structures.
- Degree in law, finance/economics, business management/administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Banking as in-house Compliance Officer or an Audit/Consulting firm providing services to Swiss-based regulated financial intermediaries.
