As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Vocational Advice is responsible for the services provided by Kinder- und Jugendhilfe and Berufsberatung. Our work focuses on children, young people and families. We work for them every day with a lot of heart and commitment. Would you like to support the nursing families department as a research assistant in the government team immediately or by agreement? The post covers a workload of 80 % and is limited to 31.12.2030. Together with two other employees, you are responsible for the approval and supervising of care conditions based on the Kinder- und Jugendheimgesetz. They examine permit applications, make clarifications in cooperation with participating agencies such as KESB, child and youth welfare centers (kjz) or migration office and hear foster parents and foster children about the permit requirements. Based on this, you decide on the granting of permits. In addition, you participate in the development of conceptual foundations as well as in projects and support the department management in networking, stakeholder management and in professional exchange with various stakeholders. They bring with them:

• University degree in social work, in a social sciences discipline or in law
• Several years of professional experience in child protection work and in dealing with challenging family circumstances as well as in-depth experience with administrative procedures
• preferably knowledge in the field of foster child care
• A solid, assertive personality with a secure appearance
• Great interest and a high level of social commitment to the concerns of children, young people and their families
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills and high social competence
• Stylistic German in words and writing, combined with the ability to present complex issues precisely and comprehensibly in approval decisions
• Affinity for questions about IT and the use of specialist applications
